A bit about the author

Hello there, I’m Foz…that’s actually my nickname…the one that stuck anyway! I’m the creator and writer of Mr. FlannelFoot. This story was firmly lodged into my mind by my nan who would tell it to us when we were naughty kids that wouldn’t sleep. It took me a long time to get it onto paper and now he’s come alive in print. It’s a fun story and Mr. FlannelFoot has a liking of brightly coloured socks!

A happy childhood in beautiful Cornwall

I was very lucky indeed to be born in Cornwall, where Mr. FlannelFoot is from. I grew up on farms, climbing trees and skinny dipping in streams, my parents were often cross at me! I’ve travelled and worked in the USA, Russia, the Philippines, and Cuba and met some pretty amazing and motivational people on the way who have inspired me.

Now I take great pleasure and happiness by sharing my story. I go to schools and read to the children and I sign as many books as I can when I go to shows and events. I support a young person’s drama group in Truro and encourage children to read and write and anyone to live their dream.

Mystery and humour

I’ve been so lucky to have been on the BBC and Prince William and Princess Kate have a copy of my book, I really love the things that this book gives, meeting lovely people and sharing the story.

Mr. FlannelFoot is a fun story with lots of mystery and humour. The illustrations are fabulous, and they are also created in Cornwall, my story is also now printed in Cornwall, which are things I am so proud of.

My main aim is for you to enjoy Mr. FlannelFoot on his magical adventures and please remember“ a world without all your socks in their pairs is chaos!”.
